„Eco-Spacer-Granulat“ von Biofibre abermals als innovativste Biomaterialanwendung ausgezeichnet

The eco-spreading granulate developed by the Bavarian Biofibre GmbH (a company of the LWB-Steinl group of companies based in Altdorf / Landshut) for the concrete technology company BPB (Blomberg GmbH, Concrete and Testing Technology) in Blomberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, as layer protection for pallet delivery concrete blocks, was awarded the first prize in a sustainability competition on July 1, 2019, for the second time this year. The granulated product with the product name BPB® ECO SPACER® VP 5.0 consists of a biopolyester / natural fiber compound with a biogenic content of more than 95 percent. It is an environmentally friendly alternative for all applications in which LDPE granulate has been used as an intermediate material.

The second award, also the main prize, was given to Biofibre in the framework of the “Förderpreis Nachwachsende Rohstoffe”, a prize awarded by C.A.R.M.E.N. e.V. (Centrales Agrar-Rohstoff Marketing and Energy Network), the network for renewable raw materials in Bavaria, based in Straubing, has been awarded an annual competition. This award is particularly important for the institutional support of the competition and the network by the Bavarian Ministries of State for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy as well as for Food, Agriculture and Forestry.
